Post-Signup Attribution

Tracking signups and purchases post-signup is crucial for attributing them to the referrer and ensuring correct rewards calculation. The steps to achieve this depend on your particular setup.

Here's an overview:

  • Capture Referral Information: Configure your system to capture the referral code (UCC) and ProductUserId of the referred user into the Payment Gateway metadata upon completion of the signup form. This allows you to associate the referral information with the transaction. The Cello Attribution library can assist with obtaining a product user's referral code (UCC)
  • Set Up Webhooks: Establish a Stripe Webhook or Chargebee Webhook to connect with Cello. These webhooks enable you to track specific attributed transactions and trigger notifications and rewards for referrers.
  • Send Generic Events: An alternative method is to utilize the Cello API to send generic events directly from your backend system. This allows you to communicate specific events related to referrals to Cello for tracking and processing.
  • 3rd Party Forms Integration: Cello also offers detailed instructions for integrating with HubSpot Forms or Typeform Forms, providing seamless integration options for capturing referral data.

For more specific guidance based on your unique setup, refer to the Attribution Overview section, which provides detailed information on which APIs to use. Ensure accurate attribution and rewards by implementing effective post-signup tracking with Cello.
